Reporting and enforcement

How to report something that is wrong or illegal, how we review it, what action we can take and how to ask for a decision to be reviewed.

  • The terms prevail if anything differs.

§ 1

How to report

Use Report on the listing, profile, review or message, or write to us via the contact page. If someone is in danger, call 112 first.

  • Where the content is, such as the address or the booking number.
  • What is wrong, and why you believe it breaks the rules or the law.
  • Your name and email, if you would like to receive the decision.
  • That you are giving the information in good faith.

We do not tell the person reported who reported them.

§ 2

How we review

A report does not hide anything by itself. We confirm that we have received it, and someone on our team reviews it without undue delay. Automated checks help us find suspicious content, but decisions to suspend an account are always made by a person.

If we suspect a crime that threatens someone's life or safety, we tell the police straight away.

§ 3

The actions

We choose an action that is proportionate to what happened. For minor breaches a reminder or a warning comes first.

  • A reminder or a warning.
  • Content is hidden or removed, such as a photo, a review or a message.
  • The listing is paused or removed.
  • The payout is held while the case is investigated.
  • A booking is cancelled, with a full refund to the guest when the fault is the host's.
  • The account is restricted or suspended temporarily.
  • The account is closed permanently, and anyone who has been removed may not open a new one.

§ 4

When an account is suspended

  • Fraud, fake listings or attempts to get someone to pay outside the service.
  • Violence, threats, harassment or discrimination.
  • Repeated or serious breaches of the house rules or the guest or host commitments.
  • False information about who you are, or an account used by someone else.
  • Illegal content published again and again.
  • When the law or an authority requires it.

Anyone who often sends reports that are clearly unfounded may get a warning and then be temporarily unable to report.

§ 5

The decision

If we take action against you, you get a decision with the reasons: what we did, which facts and which rule the decision is based on, whether anything was decided automatically and how to ask for a review.

If a host is suspended, their upcoming bookings are cancelled, and the guests get back everything they paid and help finding somewhere else to stay.

§ 6

Review

You can ask for a review within six months by replying to the decision. Someone else on our team reviews the case. You can also turn to a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body under the Digital Services Act, or to a court.

§ 7

Authorities

Authorities can reach us through the point of contact in the terms. We reply in Swedish and English.
