§ 1
The commitment
No one may be treated less favourably because of sex, transgender identity or expression, ethnicity, skin colour, nationality, religion or other belief, disability, sexual orientation, age, family situation or pregnancy.
The commitment applies to everyone: guests, hosts, people offering experiences and services, and our own staff. It covers listings, profiles, messages, requests, bookings and reviews. Swedish discrimination law also applies to everyone who offers services to the public.
§ 2
What a host may not do
- Decline a request, cancel or set different terms because of any of the grounds above.
- Write in the listing, the house rules or messages who is or is not welcome based on those grounds.
- Charge a higher price, an extra fee or an extra cleaning fee because of those grounds, or for a guide or assistance dog.
- Ask about someone's religion, sexual orientation, health or disability.
- Turn away families with children. The host may describe what makes the place less suitable for small children, such as a steep staircase or a jetty without a railing, but the family decides for itself.
§ 3
What a host may do
- Set a minimum age for the person booking, which applies equally to everyone and is shown in the listing.
- Rent out a room in their own home only to people of the same sex, when the host shares a bedroom, bathroom or kitchen with the guest.
- Describe the place factually, for example that it has no lift or is some way from the nearest road.
- Say no for objective reasons that apply equally to everyone, for example that you are more people than the place sleeps or that the dates do not work.
§ 4
Disability and accessibility
A guide or assistance dog is always welcome, free of charge. The host must answer questions about accessibility honestly and may not discourage anyone from booking because of a disability. Read more in the accessibility policy.
§ 5
Words and tone
Hateful words, demeaning jokes, symbols and stereotypes about a group are not allowed anywhere here, including in reviews and responses.
§ 6
If you are discriminated against
- Report the profile, listing or message with Report, or write to us via the contact page.
- If you need somewhere else to stay, we help you with that first.
- Someone on our team investigates and hears both sides.
Anyone who discriminates may get a warning, have the listing hidden or the account closed permanently. You can also report it to the Swedish Equality Ombudsman.
